and MAN!!! The iPad screen is too damn good for the Paperlike. well screw it, I just wasted a $30 screen protector and pulled it off. I mentioned earlier I wish I could go back and forth a few times to remind myself how bad it is. Anyway, even after several wipe downs, my ~four month old Paperlike V2 has hundreds of hairline scratches, and continues to just really dull the screen.

So, I'm sitting at my work computer with my 12.9" 2020 iPad Pro to my left, where I use it as a secondary device when on work calls or for easy texting with the Magic Keyboard. I haven't felt the need to replace the nib yet, but I'm not a heavy user of the pencil. You only have to wipe them with a damp cloth, but even just handling them slightly can start to leave marks on the protector. They tend to pick up dirt/oils quite easily though, due to the texture, and can look a bit cloudy as a result. I do recommend a textured matte protector if you plan on using the Pencil.

I have not tried the Paperlike v2 to see if it's any better. (the content was a comparison review I had found on Reddit, if you're wondering - I just used it for the black text on a white background) So the Elecom protector has less speckle, and is sharper than the Paperlike. Sharpness in the video is actually the opposite of what you see in person, as the sharper options required the camera to be set more out-of-focus to prevent moiré patterns. Note: this video should not be used to judge image sharpness - only the level of speckle/grain. I shot a comparison between the clean iPad, the Paperlike, and one of Elecom's paper-type screen protectors (the strong texture one). The texture was too rough, it affected the sharpness noticeably, and it had very bad speckle. I had an original Paperlike and was not a huge fan of it. One last thing, if you do lose lysol to clean your screen (given the pandemic and everything) it does leave a bit of residue behind on the screen protector but you can easily clean it with a microfibre cloth.

The tools (minus the damp cloths) and the video link they provided made it a better process. Overall, it was not less or more tricky to apply than other screen protectors. Finally once you apply the screen protector you will have to use a credit card to squeeze out the air bubbles (didn’t take too long for me). Finally, they provide some stickers to align the screen protector, which I found to be useful. Instead of using the “wet” wipes I find using a bit of vinegar to dampen a micro-fibre cloth to be a better solution. For the cleaning part they provide less than stellar “wet” wipes, which were not damp at all. They provide a useful sticky paper to get all the dust out and they recommend you do it in a humid environment with less dust in the air (be very thorough here, I have two tiny particles of dust behind my screeprotector). The process of putting it on is similar to other screen protectors (same amount of hassle). The feeling that it provides when using it with the Apple Pencil is not quite like paper (less rough, less resistant) but better than on the glass screen. It reduces a lot of the glare on the iPad (which makes a world of difference, I am now looking to get something similar for my iPhone). I am writing this comment from an iPad Pro 3rd gen 12.9 with a second generation Paperlike screen protector. I’m glad that I could help you with finding a more trusted safeguard for the screen. Having explored the above collection, you might have already decided to go for some screen guards. So, this sums up our lineup of the top-grade screen guards for the 3rd-gen iPad Pro. Additionally, ESR screen protector for 11″ iPad comes in two packs. That means even the sharpness of a knife can’t damage the touchscreen.Īs an owner of an expensive device, this is exactly what you’d like to have at your disposal to always remain on the safer side. Well, it’s because the screen protector is powered by 9H hardness. Even though I won’t completely buy its claim, I would love to go with it.

ESR touts that its screen guard is 3X stronger than other ordinary defenders.
